Celebrating Shakespeare: 40th Batch Stages Hamlet at USTC

The students of the 40th Batch of the Department of English staged Hamlet on 18 May, 2026. The play displayed the thematic depth and dramatic excellence of William Shakespeare’s one of the most renowned tragedies. 

The production was supervised by Ms. Afifa Rahman, Assistant Professor, Department of English, USTC. Her guidance and mentorship played a significant role in the success of the performance. 

The programme was attended by Dr. Gurupada Chakraborty, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Dr. Hadaate Ullah, Director, Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Ms. Shaila Binte Sattar, Chairperson, Department of English, revered faculty members and students of all batches.

The production served a meaningful theatrical representation with literary scholarship, artistic expression and enduring relevance of Shakespeare’s works across diverse cultural and historical contexts.
