Profile

Dr. Shahanara Basher is an Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at the University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC), Bangladesh. She joined USTC in July 2022. She has over 14 years of teaching and research experience. Earlier, Dr. Basher served as an adjunct lecturer at the Department of Business Administration of International Islamic University Chittagong from 2009 to 2015. She was a Research Assistant in the Department of Economics of Cukurova University, Turkey from 2016 to 2021. She also worked as the Research Fellow of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) of Turkey for 2017-18. Dr. Basher is making positive strides and achievements in her area of research. Her research interest includes international finance, foreign trade, economic integrations, and capital flows. She has been able to publish a good number of research articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings in internationally acclaimed peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Basher has multiple grants and awards to her credit. Some of those include the University of Chittagong Merit Scholarship for Undergraduate Program, 2001-2002; Research Scholarship from the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), Turkey, 2017; and Best Paper Awards, International Conference on Eurasian Economies-2019, Famagusta, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Apart from teaching, Dr. Basher is also serving different administrative positions at USTC. She is a USTC academic council member and serves as an assistant proctor of the university.
