Quality assurance (QA) is essential for building a strong, accountable, and continuously improving university. The seminar on “Academic and Administrative Management in QA System”, organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), University of Science & Technology Chittagong (USTC), brings together distinguished academic and administrative leaders to share valuable insights and experiences.
The seminar is honored to welcome Prof. Dr. MD. Sohidul Rana, Treasurer of Jahangirnagar University, as the Chief Guest. His experience in university leadership and administration will provide valuable perspectives on strengthening institutional quality and governance.
The Keynote Speaker, Dr. Sultan Mahmud Bhuiyan, Director, International Collaboration Division, University Grants Commission (UGC), will share expert insights into academic and administrative management within the quality assurance framework. His contribution will help participants understand current approaches to institutional quality enhancement and sustainable development.
The seminar also welcomes Mr. Dilip Kumar Barua, Registrar, USTC, as the Special Guest. His administrative experience will add an important practical dimension to discussions on efficient university management, accountability, and service delivery.
The program will be chaired by Dr. Hadaate Ullah, Director of IQAC, USTC. Under his leadership, the IQAC continues to promote a culture of continuous improvement, evidence-based evaluation, and quality-focused institutional practices.
Effective QA requires close coordination between academic and administrative units. While academic management focuses on teaching, learning, assessment, curriculum development, and student support, administrative management ensures transparency, efficiency, accountability, and effective resource utilization.
This seminar offers an excellent opportunity for all faculty members of USTC to engage with experienced professionals, exchange ideas, and explore practical strategies for strengthening the university’s QA system. Ultimately, quality assurance is more than compliance—it is a shared commitment to excellence and continuous institutional improvement.
