Profile

Dr. Mst. Ayesha Siddika joined the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology as a Senior Lecturer in November 2024. She received her PhD from the Graduate School of Innovative Life Science, University of Toyama, Japan, where she was honored with the Dean’s Award for Research Excellence (2023) and the President’s Commendation for Academic Excellence. Her doctoral research focused on constructing ribozyme-based catalytic RNA nanostructures.

Dr. Siddika completed her MSc and BSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Her MSc research, funded by the National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship, investigated the anticancer properties of natural and synthetic compounds. She also received the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence from the Faculty of Science, University of Rajshahi.

Dr. Siddika is deeply passionate about both research and teaching. Her research interests include RNA-based therapeutics, ribozymes, RNA viruses, infectious diseases, and anticancer drugs.
