Profile

Dr. Mohammad Shahangir Biswas is a highly accomplished academic and researcher specialising in biochemistry, biotechnology, and neurophysiology. He worked as an assistant professor of the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology at Khwaja Yunus Ali University, Bangladesh, from December 20221 to November 2024. He is currently the Assistant Professor of the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology at the University of Science and Technology Chittagong, Bangladesh, a position he has held since November 2024. He has a strong research background, having served as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, and conducting research in Japan at Tokyo Medical and Dental University.

Dr. Biswas worked in several administrative roles, including Director of the Research Cell at Khwaja Yunus Ali University, and is a member of various quality assurance and academic councils. He earned his PhD in Medical Science (Systems Neurophysiology) from Tokyo Medical and Dental University and received both his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from Rajshahi University, graduating with first-class honours.
With over 30 publications in reputed journals, his research covers neurophysiology, vaccine development, autism spectrum disorders, cancer, and public health. He also serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Bioscience and Environmental Research and USTC Journal and a reviewer for several prominent journals. Dr. Biswas has been awarded multiple research grants, including the IBRO-DANA Brain Awareness Grant (2023), and he has been recognised for his academic excellence with prestigious awards such as the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship.
With 10.7 years of experience across multiple countries, Dr. Biswas’s expertise includes advanced research techniques and a focus on brain function, hormonal regulation, and disease mechanisms. He is dedicated to contributing to scientific knowledge and education in his field.
