Profile

Ms. Ummah Tasnim Nisat is currently serving as a lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy from April 25, 2024. She earned her Bachelor of Pharmacy Professional (B. Pharm) degree from the University of Chittagong in 2022 and completed her Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm) with a thesis in 2023, also from the University of Chittagong. During her academic journey, she gained valuable practical experience through hospital training at Chittagong Medical College and Hospital and industrial training at Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited. Prior to her current position, Ms. Nisat was a lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy at BGC Trust University from July 2023 to April 2024. She received several honors for her academic achievements, including the prestigious National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Bangladesh, and the University Merit Scholarship from the University of Chittagong. She was also awarded the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.
Her research interests lie in animal behavioral pharmacology, pre-clinical testing using various animal models (mice, rats, helminths, nauplii), and laboratory animal handling techniques. Ms. Nisat has published five international research articles so far and contributed to a book chapter on stem cell transplantation in neurological disorders. Additionally, she has presented her research at numerous national and international conferences.
