Profile

Mrs. Mahabuba Khanam Shorna is a dedicated academic professional currently serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy from January 7, 2025 holding ‘A grade pharmacist registration no. A-17027’ (Pharmacy Council Bangladesh). With a strong background in both academia and the pharmaceutical industry, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. She earned her Bachelor of Pharmacy Professional (B. Pharm) degree from the University of Chittagong in 2019 and completed her Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm) with a thesis in 2021, also from the University of Chittagong. She is currently enrolled at M.Phil program at Department of Pharmacy, University of Chittagong. Her academic accomplishments earned her multiple awards, such as the University Merit Scholarship from the University of Chittagong and the prestigious National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship from Bangladesh’s Ministry of Science and Technology.
Before joining USTC, she worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy at BGC Trust University from July 2, 2023 to January 6, 2025. She also worked at a renowned pharmaceutical industry of Bangladesh (Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited, USFDA Approved Plant) for 1 year as a Quality Control Officer where she gained plenty of experience regarding HPLC, UV, IR, Karl Fischer titrator, HVAC, etc. Her areas of research interest are animal model study (mice, rats, and helminths), ethnopharmacological study, compound isolation and computer-aided drug design.
