Profile

This is Mahabubul Mowla, currently serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology at University of Science and Technology (USTC). With a Master of Science (MS) and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from the University of Chittagong holding the first position in both degrees, I bring a strong academic background and a wealth of research experience to my role.

My journey in the field of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology has been marked by academic excellence and a commitment to advancing scientific knowledge. My thesis, “”Investigation of Anti-SARS-CoV-2 S-RBD IgG Antibodies in Non-vaccinated and Vaccinated Individuals in Chattogram, Bangladesh: A Cross-sectional Study,”” underscores my dedication to addressing critical health issues. I am well-versed in a variety of laboratory techniques, including ELISA, flow cytometry, DNA, RNA, and protein isolation and purification, cDNA synthesis, conventional PCR, RT-PCR, and qRT-PCR and electrophoresis.

I have previously held positions as a Research Fellow at the Laboratory of Molecular & Structural Immunology and as a Molecular Biologist at the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical & Infectious Disease and Chevron Clinical Laboratory. During the COVID-19 pandemic, my role as a Molecular Biologist was crucial in expanding testing capacities, reflecting my commitment to public health. These roles have equipped me with extensive skills in laboratory techniques, data analysis, and project management. I have also accumulated valuable teaching experience as a Lecturer in Chemistry at South Asian College Chittagong, where I honed my skills in delivering complex scientific concepts, preparing assessments, and mentoring students.

As a lecturer, I am passionate about educating and mentoring the next generation of scientists. My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a collaborative and engaging learning environment where students can thrive. In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I actively participate in research projects, focusing on areas such as immunology and molecular diagnostics.
