The Department of English Language & Publication Club (DELPC) of the Department of English, University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC) celebrated “Shakespeare’s Day” through an Essay Writing Competition, followed by a Prize Giving Ceremony and the official inauguration of the DELPC January Session. The event was held on 23 April 2026 at 12:00 PM in Room No.1603.
The programme was attended by Ms. Shaila Binte Sattar, Chairperson, Department of English, along with faculty members from the Department of English, the Department of Bangladesh, South Asia & Global Studies and the Department of Language & Linguistics. All the speakers including DELPC advisors, Md. Nurul Anwar and Ms. Afifa Rahman, Assistant Professors, Department of English, USTC emphasized upon the importance of literary appreciation and critical thinking in both academic and co-curricular activities.
The programme featured opening remarks, poetry recitations, a documentary on William Shakespeare and presented the activities of DELPC. Certificates of participation were awarded to all contestants. The best-performing participants received special recognition for their creativity and academic excellence.
