Profile

Dr. Nazmun Nahar was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She received her secondary school education from Kamrunnessa Govt. Girls’ High School, Dhaka. She continued her secondary school at Begum Badrunnessa Govt. Girls᾽ College, Dhaka. During secondary school, she joined many innovation competitions and contests which spurred her interest in science.  She earned a Bachelor of Pharmacy in 2011 from Stamford University Bangladesh, Dhaka. She gained good experience through her internship at Globe Pharmaceuticals Limited, Bangladesh. Discovered something amazing when she did her final year project in medicinal plant and antinociceptive activity.

After that, she joined as a production pharmacist at Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Bangladesh. As she had a strong passion for research in 2017, she continued her education journey for a Ph.D. in herbal medicine research on the disease, diabetes mellitus under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Suhaila Mohamed. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Biotherapeutics) from the Cancer Research Lab, Institute of Bioscience, University Putra Malaysia

Dr. Nazmun Nahar started her teaching career at the University of Science and Technology Chittagong in December 2022 as a Lecturer.

She also works as a member of many committees in the department such as the Lab committee, the Project/Thesis evaluation committee, and the Question Moderation committee.

She is an A-grade registered Pharmacist in the Bangladesh Pharmacy Council (Registration no: A-6059).

Dr. Nazmun Nahar also achieved a Travel Grant award from LMCE 2019 (Laboratory Medicine Congress & Exhibition) & KSLM 60th Annual Meeting in Busan, Korea in recognition of outstanding achievement in Diabetic Neuropathy research during their Doctor of Philosophy degree in her academic career as she gets request to present her research in  7th International Conference on Food Factors (ICoFF) and the 12th International Conference and Exhibition on Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods (ISNFF) was held on December 1-5, 2019 in Kobe Japan.
