Sarowar Morshed Shawon is an Assistant Professor at the University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC), with expertise in Precision Agriculture (PA), Smart Grid Technologies, Machine Learning (ML), and the Internet of Things (IoT). He earned his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering (BEngSc.) in 2016 and a Master of Engineering by Research (MEngSc.) in 2021 from Multimedia University, Malaysia. During his master’s research, he achieved notable recognition by winning the championship at the Research, Innovation, Commercialization, and Entrepreneurship Showcase (RICES) in 2019.
Sarowar’s research focuses on leveraging AI and IoT to address critical challenges in agriculture and energy systems. In Precision Agriculture, he develops innovative solutions for Soil-Water Interaction Analysis and Crop Yield Prediction, integrating advanced Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) techniques with IoT-driven frameworks to enhance agricultural efficiency and sustainability. In the energy domain, his expertise lies in designing state-of-the-art ML and DL-based frameworks for Electrical Load Forecasting, contributing to smarter and more resilient energy grids.
In addition to his academic role, Sarowar has been serving as a Research Executive at the USTC Research Cell (URC) since 2022, actively contributing to research development and innovation initiatives. He has successfully secured research project grants aimed at advancing sustainable technologies in the field of precision agriculture. Furthermore, he has published numerous high impact factor articles in reputable journals and conferences, sharing his insights on topics ranging from smart grid optimization to data-driven agricultural solutions.
